Hello, I’m looking for an Electronic Visa Record, my family arrived in 1963 as part of the 10 Pound Pom Scheme and I’m looking for paperwork to prove my permanent residency here in Australia (Sydney).
Many thanks in advance - Lesley
Hi Lesley,
Electronic visa records are maintained by the Department of Home Affairs.
Visa records for people who last arrived in Australia before 1990 were not kept electronically. If you don’t have an electronic visa record, you will need to apply to the Department of Home Affairs to get added to their Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) system.
There is information about how to request an electronic visa record on the Department of Home Affairs’ website. There is also information about what documentation you need to request an electronic visa record.
The National Archives of Australia holds records of arrivals into Australia prior to 1990. Details about how to find these records are available at International movement records | naa.gov.au.
If you’re not able to find your arrival record, please submit a proof of arrival inquiry and our reference staff will be able to assist.
Regards,
Jessie
