Hi everyone,

Thanks for your posts. National Archives of Australia holds passenger records up to and including the year 1989.

For records before 1973, you can check our passenger arrivals index which includes many but not all passenger records from this time.

If you can’t find the record you’re looking for, please contact us and our reference staff can help you search.

For records dated from 1973-1989, we may hold records but they’re not available to be searched online. National Archives’ reference team can help you to find these records.

To request assistance with passenger arrival records, please submit a proof of arrival enquiry form.

It will help our staff if you can provide as much information as possible such as:

  • your full name
  • your date of birth
  • the date of your arrival, as precisely as possible
  • the place of your arrival
  • where you left from
  • the name of the ship or the airline you travelled with

You can find more information about our holdings of passenger records on our international movement records page.

Regards,

Jessie
