I have my Grandfather’s WW1 records and there is one attached to his service number that is a repatriation record. It is marked as ‘open’ and in Perth, but not yet an electronic record - is it possible to request this to be scanned and sent or do I have to go and get physical records ? I have Series/Control Symbol and Item number but item is not able to be retrieved even though series come up in searches
Hi,
You can request a copy of repatriation records that aren’t electronic yet.
If you bring up your grandfather’s records and select ‘Request a Copy’, N.A.A. will send you a quote so you can make your payment. They will then email them to you within a few weeks.
Here is the link (although I’m sure you have this): https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/SearchNRetrieve/Interface/SearchScreens/NameSearch.aspx

Ruth
