I have a current record search (expires today after 90 business days). I know I successfully placed it as I have an email confirming the request. That’s it. In trying to access these forums, my clever ipad has erased my password to my Recordsearch account and I have now been locked out of it. Technical support to get back in is non-existent but I cannot escape the feeling also that no one in Archives has even looked at my original research request.
Thank you for reaching out on the forum, and our apologies for the technical issues you’re having with your RecordSearch account.
You can reset your password in RecordSearch. To do this, go to RecordSearch. In the top right hand of the screen, click ‘Login’
Under the login name and password fields, click ‘Forgotten your details?’
Enter the email address associated with your account
Press ‘Submit’. You should see a notice stating ‘An email has been sent containing a new password’.
You will receive an email containing your username and a single-use password. This may take several minutes to arrive. If you don’t see it, please check your junk or spam email folder.
Please make note of your username for future use. It is not your username and is assigned by the system.
While we aim to have applications for access to records completed within 90 business days, in some cases it may take longer. Records are examined on a case by case basis and each record is different.

To follow up on on a specific access application, you can contact our Reference team by submitting a general inquiry and giving the application details from your confirmation email.
