Naval Board of inquiry

ADF advised me that the records would be available via NAA.

There was a naval board of inquiry onboard HMAS Moresby alongside Darwin, Mid 1986.

The board was inquiring into the ditching of the ships Bell 206b Helo.

I was involved in an incident during the recovery of the aircraft.

I can provide the date time and the incident but this will only assist in providing evidence of involvement.

How do I get a copy of that board of inquiry or the relevant section ?

Hi,

To obtain a copy of the naval board of inquiry records, you can submit a request to the National Archives of Australia (NAA). You may need to provide specific details such as the ship’s name (HMAS Moresby), the incident (Bell 206B helicopter ditching), and the timeframe (mid-1986). If the records are classified, you may need to apply for access under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act. Start by searching the NAA’s online catalog, or contact them directly for guidance on accessing the relevant records.
