Children as passenger arrivals

Why weren’t children listed as passenger arrivals alongside their parents anno 1956?

Hi Pia,
Is there a particular arrival record you are looking at?
We will be able to assist with more information.
Thanks,
Leslie (NAA)

Dear Leslie
Thank you for your reply
There is indeed
Sorry it’s so small. It’s a screen shot. I’m sure you can zoom..

I hope you can open it. I’m corresponding from Denmark Europe. I don’t know whether that makes a difference? I do have yet another query about my Mother’s naturalisation which I am almost certain she was granted post marriage to my Australian born step father. I would really like to know whether I ,as a 14 yr old was included in her Naturalisation. I can’t include this screen shot from 1970 which states her marriage surname and the document is " not yet examined". I’ll try to write another post.
Thank you very much.

Please tell me if the screen shot didn’t work. I couldn’t reply to the email. Perhaps bc I am in Europe?

Hi Pia,

Reach out if we can help you with anything else.

Thanks,
Leslie

Hi Leslie thank you kindly. I don’t believe I could have found that document myself.
My next query

About my Mother’s naturalisation which I am almost certain she was granted post marriage to my Australian born step father. I would really like to know whether I ,as a 13 yr old was included in her Naturalisation? I can include this screen shot from 1970 which states her marriage surname and the document is " not yet examined". Ergo no access , right? Any idea when it could be accessible?

Pia

Hi Pia,

The best way to start the access process for this particular record will be to submit an application for access.

Instructions can be found here Submitting an access application online | naa.gov.au.

Further information regarding access to records under the Archives Act can be found here - Access to records under the Archives Act | naa.gov.au.

Once the record has been examined for public release you can request a digital copy for a fee.

Thanks,
Leslie

Sorry I made a mistake I will make another post

I, Nola Shalhoulb, under my fathers’ naturalization citizenship sub-section 6 section 15 dated October 20, 1960 need a statement that I left Sydney Australia in 1966 when I was sixteen years old and have never returned to Australia since

Still wrong

Hi Nola,

Thank you for your post. The National Archives of Australia holds passenger records up to 1989. To search the time period 1966-1989, our staff will need to check records that aren’t available online.

Please submit a Passenger departure records inquiry form - RefTracker so our staff can search these records.

Passenger records after 1989 are still held by the Department of Home Affairs. You will need to contact them directly about these records. You can do this by submitting an International Movement Records request.

You can find out more about passenger records on our website:
