Hi all, I have a Female Relative badge which I think was my Nanas in relation to my dad’s service but it could equally be my grandmothers because she lost a son in WWII.
Is there a way of searching the number on the back in order to find out the original recipient?
Thanks in advance,
Hi KHS,
The National Archives does hold registers of badges awarded during WWII.
Series A13289 - Registers of Badges awarded to World War II Service personnel, Mothers and Widows, and Female Relatives and Exemption badges
Some of the registers have been digitised and can be viewed online. You can look at these by selecting the number in the row ‘Items in this series on RecordSearch’. If the register you need has not been digitised, we can assist with your search - please fill out the below form General reference inquiry form - RefTracker.
Thanks,
Leslie
