I have found a Medal and would really like it to be returned to a relative it states The Defence Medal with a Captain ME Tripps RAOC and a number 316788. This medal does not have the ribbon on it. I tried searching Ancestry and also the NAA search with no luck. Maybe someone can advise
Instead of “TRIPPS” could it be “CRIPPS” i.e. Mark Edward CRIPPS who fought in the British Army in WW2?
See: Page 2052 | Supplement 36498, 2 May 1944 | London Gazette | The Gazette
A possibility:
There was a Mark Edward CRIPPS who was born in Redbourn, Hertfordshire (England) on 1 May 1911 and who died in district Milton Keynes in 1999. His parents were Walter CRIPPS and Louisa PECK.
Mark was a Sheet Engraver & Die Sinker who’d married an Ada G Pitkin in 1933. The couple seems to have had 2 daughters.
