I wonder if you can help. Rosina and sister Florence left England on the 6th of November 1924 for Sydney, on the SS Sophocles sent over by Dr. Barnardo’s.
They lived a ripe age, never married, and lived together until their death. Florence died in 1985 and in 1994. They lived in Mosman, NSW.
I have been trying to access their files at Dr. Barnado’s, to set the story straight for future generations, but as I am “only” 1st cousin 4x removed, they are not willing to disclose them although the events happened over 100 years ago. They insist on me finding a closer relation, which unfortunately no longer exists.
Does anyone have any experience with this, or know someone who might be able to help? I just don’t want to leave this life without setting their story straight!
