# Female Relative Badge WW2

I tried to search the register but was unlucky, we found a female relative badge. We think it was awarded to my grandmother when her son was killed in 1942 or it maybe another relative. The badge shows AF which I think is airforce and number 35783. Not sure what I need to search to confirm.

I did find the following comment:

“_Whilst the Registers of Issues for the Army issued badges have been digitised, and are on the National Archives of Australia website (NAA), **the Registers for Navy and Air Force badges are not digitised, but can be ordered and accessed at the Reading Room of the NAA, in Canberra**._“
