The Cave family, Samuel, Ethel ( father and mother)  James Terrence, Eraina, Philip,Stuart and Michelle (children) emigrated from Ipswich, England in August 1959 and arrived in Adelaide Australia  on the ship " STRATHAIRD" they were last heard of in the Port Augusta area.

Samuel Cave was  Yorkshire born and served in the RAF as a tail gunner in WW2. He later worked as a Electrical Fitter in UK Power Stations. Ethel, his wife, I believe had previously been a schoolteacher  in the UK..

There was also another sibling Rita who was the eldest of the 6 children. She married a Ipswich man, and to my knowledge did not emigrate with the rest of the family.

James and I would be the same age if he is still living, both of us born in 1943. I was fostered by the family during 1956/7 after my own parents were hospitalised. I was then living opposite the family in KIPLING ROAD on the WHITTON estate. James, who would probably now be retired,  was last known to be working in the Electrical Industry in Oz.

It would be great to catch up again, and if anyone out there has any knowledge of the family's whereabouts I would be very pleased to hear from them.
