Gurner William 1798 born Cambridge UK sent to Australia 1830 as a convict, he was on a ship called the Royal George which brought the convicts to Van Diemans Land. He worked on the estate of Edward Archer esquire at Woolmers. William was granted his freedom 14th July 1836 according to the Hobart Town Crier. Edward Archer was very fair to the convicts.
