Hi Ray,

The electoral rolls show that her full name was Elsie Isabella Beatrice and she may have been born in Victoria in 1896, the daughter of Robert YELLAND and Isabella ILLES.  Lots of maybes here, but it does look as though her siblings also ended up in NSW and her brother Albert Ernest YELLAND married Clarence's sister Lynda/Linda VERDON.

They are of a different generation to your Gladys and I think Robert immigrated with his parents in 1878 so if there is a connection it would be a distant one.  These YELLANDs were from Cornwall.

Hi Ben Your Elsie married Clarence [but you know that ] Clarence was the 4th  child of William who was the first child of James

I was interested because my mothers father married ? Gladys Yelland ,it just seemed strange that the same name should come up so many years apart maybe there is a connection but you would have to go back to England to find it you may be able to help me with the death date of Clarence & any other information you care to share Elsie's DoB death children ect I would gladly share what i have that may be of interest to you /you can contact me r.verdon@bigpond.com

Hi Ben its Ray Verdon here I would like to learn more about your family Verdon

You seem to indicate that there is no relationship with my Verdon family

This may be so but I have a question about a male child that was? Transported with his mother in 1834

Mary Verdon was transported in1834 and on the ship’s manifest it showed her as having 2 male children

I have been able to find information about 1 Peter James he dropped the Peter from his name as he moved around from place to place but nothing about the other one

I wonder if the other child was older was he taken by another family to Victoria.

I guess that you have looked at your family’s history where did they come from and how did they get here
