Just wanted to advise that while doing some family history research I have come across a file which actually has the service records for two family members both by the name of William Britten - they are an uncle and his nephew. William Britten's (snr) service number is 2580 3773 (49th Battalion) and his next of kin was his father, Richard Britten. William snr was 42 years 8 mths and a widower when he enlisted and his nephew was only 23 years of age.

Is there somewhere on your site that errors such as these can be reported? Apart from this one problem, your site is a veritable treasure trove for family history researchers and it is wonderful to have the information available on-line. Thank you!

Thank you so much for drawing our attention to this.  I have passed the information on to the area of the National Archives of Australia that looks after how the archival collection is arranged and described.  They will look into further.
