Trying to find photographs of WW1 defence personnel

Hi, I am researching the history of the Electrical Trades Union in Western Australia. I have managed to find a number of union members through Recordsearch but I have never come across any photographs of individuals. Can anyone tell me how to find photographs of WW1 defence personnel.

Thanks

Linda

Linda,  Maybe this site would have photos of the ones you are looking for?

http://www.gravesecrets.net/wwi-pictorial-honour-rolls.html

or you could try a google search for (world war one soldiers western australia)

Thanks for the suggestion Elizabeth.  I found photographs of a couple of members on the site you suggested and I also found a photograph of a member on the NSW State Library collection NSW servicemen portraits by putting the name into Trove.  So I guess it is just a case of trying anything.  I will also have to find out what I have to do to get permission to use them in any future publication.

Thanks again, Linda

Linda,  It is a bit difficult to find the contact address on this site but if you go to this page right at the bottom

there is a contact name & address

You need permission to use any photos from this site - what a wonderful resource it is

check out the new WWI and Boer War website from NAA - http://discoveringanzacs.naa.gov.au/ - someone may have contributed a photo here...
