Trying to find details of Peter Malachy(Mal) Hynes & wife Agnes

First time at this & I'm not having any luck finding details  online of their arrival by ship from Nr Ireland  into Melb approx 1971-1973 & I don't think they travelled under the immigration scheme but paid their passage themselves.

I would like to get details of their passports is this possible? as well as any other info relating to them.

Thank you for taking the time to read this

Early seventies is quite recent, but luckily they can still be found amongst the incoming passenger cards. They arrived late 1972 on the Britanis and it seems that a Kathleen Hynes was travelling with them.

Dear Sylvia - Wow! wonderful thats them! many many thanks for that info it is much appreciated.

It has been said in family that Peter Malachy Hynes came to Australia as a 16/17yr old under the Big Brother Scheme but he was supposed to have paid his own fare, He was said to have stayed in Liverpool NSW for roughly 2 yrs & then returned to Nr Ireland as he had an ill parent - would there be any records of this in the archvies?

Thanking you

I assume you are referring to the Big Brother Movement? Here is some info: http://guides.naa.gov.au/good-british-stock/chapter3/big-brother.aspx .

I can’t see anything online for Peter Hynes, but apparently the Big Brother Movement “maintains an archive and historical records of the Little Brothers arriving in Australia from 1925 to 1982”, so you could try to contact them. http://www.bbm.asn.au/bbm-youth-support/big-brother-movement/
