Hi, I am trying to find details of my uncle Angus Macpherson Mackay Morrison who came to Melbourne aboard the Cameronia on 19th December 1951. I am not sure what to do next.

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Thanks Angela

It isn’t clear whether you want to know more about his immigration or about his life in Australia, but this is what I could find for Angus:

Passenger lists:
Arrival Fremantle 14 Dec 1951: https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/scripts/AutoSearch.asp?O=ID&Num...
Arrival Melbourne 19 Dec 1951: https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/scripts/AutoSearch.asp?O=ID&Num...

Electoral rolls:
In 1963, Angus is living in Altona/Spotswood  with his wife Aileen Mildred. His Occupation = fireman. (NB “A M Morrison” was listed at the same address in the 1960 Victorian directories)
In 1969 they are residing in St Kilda North and Angus is now a “boiler att”.
In 1977 Angus is still a “Boiler atdt”, but is now living in Brunswick East.

His Death:
Registration number: 26122 / 1978
Reg year: 1978
Family name: MORRISON
Given name(s): Angus McPherson McKay
Age at death: 58
Place of event: Melbourne East, Australia
Mother's name: <Unknown Family Name>, Kathy
Father's name: <Unknown Family Name>, MORRISON George
-
Buried Melbourne General Cemetery, Rose Garden, CoE:

beloved husband of Aileen.

His wife’s death:
2003 obit: https://www.heraldsun.com.au/tributes/notice/death-notices/morrison...
2003 cremation: https://smct.org.au/deceased-search/680992?cemetery=Springvale%20Bo...

!!!  Re the children listed on Aileen’s Obit.
I suspect that Aileen’s maiden name could have been Sullivan. Unfortunately the couple is not listed in the VIC marriage index yet (currently the last year = 1960).
There is a Victorian marriage registration for an Aileen Mildred Sullivan X Wesley Wm Chas Crabtree in 1949. It seems as if the couple started having problems after only a few years and by 1954 they are living at separate addresses. However, there is a chance that they could have had children together, so I don’t think that you can accept that those 2 children are definitely Angus’ without more proof.

The obit of his mother-in-law confirms the Sullivan name:

The Age 8 Jan 1965
Sullivan – On January 7, at St Vincent’s Hospital, Verna beloved wife of Arch Sullivan of 152 Donald street East Brunswick (NB Aileen and Angus are listed at this address in the 1977 Elec Roll) and loving mother of Aileen (Mrs Morrison) and Patricia (Mrs Ferguson), loving nana of Vivienne, Jennifer, John, Shirley and Sue. In God’s care.
