Linda, I have checked the electoral rolls and this family were living in Western Australia (showing up from 1977)

Ellen is only listed once but her husband is listed up to 1980 which is as far as we can check

I will check my other WA records to see if I can find some more info

Linda,   I have an address from 1980 which is a long while ago but have requested a lookup of the electoral rolls to see if they are still living in Western Australia - will let you know when I hear back from the library

Hi Elizabeth

Thank you very much. This is a big help. In the records I found the family were located in Canberra, so I have been focused on the area around Canberra and Victoria.

looking to hear from you.

A huge tank you.

Linda,  Can you tell me which records you found that said they were in Canberra area?  Do they have a date?

Linda,  I found that record your mentioned on this National archives site where it said Canberra - but Canberra is where the records are held not where the family were living

It states that they were residents at the time in the Bonegilla Migrant Hostel in the state of Victoria - this would have been after their arrival in 1968 - they must have been naturalized at a later date and then they start appearing in the electoral rolls from 1977 in Western Australia

It may take a little while to hear back from the Library but will let you know if any results

Hi Elizabeth

Once again thank you for translating the record I found. It`s a big different. I found a web site: Attachment: Vendors - City og Joondalup, where the the couple apears on a list for paid sums. The cheques are dated March 2000.

I am looking forward to hear from you, becaurse the big question is, if she is still alive.

Linda   Jorgen was listed as a Plumber and son Michael was an electrician in the Electoral Rolls so it might have had something to do with their trades?

Hi Elizabeth

I`m sure you are right.

Many Danish people who were edautated plumers, electricians, carpenters and so on, in the 1960`ies, imigrated to Australia, besaurse of the "know how" they believed they could offer.

Kind regards

Linda

Linda,  I have got a reply from the Library - they were only able to check the electoral rolls until 2008

They were living in 2008 in 44 Westborough St. Scarborough, 6019, Western Australia   however I googled that address and found the property had been sold in 2010 so I think they have moved on

Might be worth contacting  them on the following link to see if they can assist if you explain your circumstances

http://slwa.wa.gov.au/find/guides/family_history/australia/western_... - let me know how you get on

Hopefully a family member will come across your post and get in touch
