I am looking for a possible inquest of Horace Henry Hillman, a mate on a ship "Don Diego" in July-August 1876. While the ship was standing off the island of Atiu, Cook Islands. He fell through an open after hatch and broke his neck. He was buried on shore. This is according to The Age, Melbourne dated Tue 15 Aug 1876 - Page 2.
I am wondering whether an inquest was conducted and if so, the result of that inquest. Where would I apply for a copy of his death certificate please.
Hoping you may be able to help or direct me where I may find more information please. Thanking you Ducie Hood.
