Does any body know if war graves from the boar war have ever been marked in some way.
Hi Tony,
What do you mean by marked? Do you mean marked with a gravestone? Or, remembered/acknowledged via a list of graves?
Sylvia
Hi Sylvia,
I was hoping that the actual spot might might be marked with a stone or something.
But I wasn't sure if the actual graves location would even be known. I have asked at the war memorial in Canberra a couple of times and have not been able to get an answer.
Cheers Tony
Have you tried Veterans' Affairs?:https://www.dva.gov.au/commemorations-memorials-and-war-graves/reme... includes some info on the Boer war and a contact page for "Australia's war dead commemorative enquiries": https://www.dva.gov.au/commemorations-memorials-and-war-graves/offi...And who knows you might be lucky with this other site. It contains some graves among the many shrines: https://familyhistoryact.org.au/boer_war/index.php
Thank you
I have tried the first one but that was a while ago and I think they have been updating boar war info so I will try again.
Cheers Tony
