Dear Suzie Stokes

Thank you for your question.

Please submit an online inquiry to our reference services team using the link below, providing name and date of birth details so that a search of our collection catalogue can be made to check if there are federal government records such as an application for citizenship or other travel records after 1967 that can be identified.

Ask us about the collection | naa.gov.au

Yours sincerely

Hi Suzie,

It seems that you’ve been looking for him for at least 15 years now and I can understand why as he seems to have disappeared after his arrival at Sydney Airport in Jan 1968.
It might be worth it to start at the beginning i.e. his likely employment with Melbourne Tramways.

Apparently their historic records can be found in the Public Records Office of Victoria:
e.g.
1919-1983 - Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramways Board (VA2694)
1983-1989 - Metropolitan Transit Authority (VA1044)

FYI :
This a set for employment records for the time period 1919-1983 : https://prov.vic.gov.au/archive/VPRS12741
These records are open to the public, but are not available online.
