I am new to family history research and have come to a brick wall.
I have traced my my maternal grandmother's father to Victoria.
His name was Peter Edward LESTER. He was a carpenter. His father is listed as John LESTER on the Naturalisation Certificate in 1869. I have an approx birth date of April 1836.
A friend of a friend was able to post this but no link ..."There’s also an online index to Victoria’s Naturalisation Certificates. It has a Peter LESTER in that index. His Certificate is dated 26 April 1869. He was then aged 33 years (so born about 1835-37) and his address was Emerald Hill, He was indexed as born Bremen (after a correction was struck through) and a Carpenter... "
Where can I go to see this record?
I can trace him once he came to SA and married in 1873 but have no idea about his life in Victoria prior to that.
Thanking in advance
Irene, I am not sure if this is a previous marriage for him in Victoria - that birth place listed could be a typo for Bremen?

Irene, I noticed you have already asked for assistance on Peter on Rootschat so I won't do any further checking as it seems it has already been done
They don't think the Peter who was in Victoria is the same person as Peter Edward LESTER who appears to have been born in London in England
