He was born in Wooragee in 1891.

His father died in a mine accident in 1899 at Wooragee.

Amelia Mansfield married Arthur Raymond TURNER on 19 Oct 1929 in Adelaide South Australia.

(Assume this is my Arthur)

Amelia may have died in 1994.Somerton, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia.

He was known as "Tot" Turner according to…

A few years ago I commenced a search for records of my Italian forebears when I attended the “Exiles and Immigrants” exhibition in Melbourne.

My grandfather’s name was Matteo Lombardi and I think he came to Australia on the Re D’Italia in 1926 or earlier. During WW2 he was interned in Victoria. I’m sure he was naturalised and this may have been in 1946-1947

I found three records that seemed to match his age – he died in 1962 reportedly aged 77…

Assisted Immigration Irene Anthea Hawkins 1971

Hi everyone,

I am trying to trace someone who emigrated to Australia in 1971. We believe that she may have married someone who accompanied her from the UK but don't have his name. We have found her record of landing in Australia but is there any way of a non Australian citizen trying to trace a person i.e. marriage, naturlisation etc. without actually visiting Australia.

World War One records mix-up

Just wanted to advise that while doing some family history research I have come across a file which actually has the service records for two family members both by the name of William Britten - they are an uncle and his nephew. William Britten's (snr) service number is 2580 3773 (49th Battalion) and his next of kin was his father, Richard Britten. William snr was 42 years 8 mths and a widower when he enlisted and his nephew was only 23 years of age.

Is there somewhere on your site…

Reasons for Discharge from AIF WW1

My great uncle enlisted in C Company 4th Battalion in Nov 1915 and was discharged Feb. 1916, Noted on his records is "Services no longer required". As this was at the height of WW! in France can you suggest a reason for him not being wanted. There are no medical notes to suggest he was unfit. Thanks

Immigration to Australia Records.

Several years ago I found a record of the Parnell family arriving in Sydney in 1927 or 1926 on the "Borda". However I can no longer find this record and would like to find it again to verify the children that came with grandfather Frederick James Parnell.  Can you suggest where to look?

Shipping records of my family to Australia from Bombay,India.

May I enlist the help of experienced Researches who are far more adept at finding information than I am.

I am looking for my Great Uncle's family who were from Bombay in India, I understand that the family emigrated to Australia probably in the late 1950's.

I last saw my Uncle, Aunt and cousins when they arrived in Liverpool aboard the ship 'Circassia' which sailed from Bombay to Liverpool on 19th March 1958.

My Uncle and his family intended to stay and live in Newport,…

Mary Elizabeth Walsh and David Follington

Thank you Debra for your input.  I have most of the family history after 1852 but would like to know what Mary did for two years after landing in Sydney and before marrying David Follington.  eg: Who did she work for and where.  I am hoping also to get some clue to her parents deaths in Ireland as well.
