The B2455 file for one of my relatives who served in WW1 is "missing".
This particular relative also served in WW2. I have read previously that the WW1 file might be combined with the WW2 file. I have other cases where that didn't happen, so I don't know if the practice was consistent.
Is it possible to find out if this has happened ? If this has happened, is it possible to get the WW1 file ?
He is William Walter Samuel Hewson, born 18…

I have been searching for a record for my Uncle in World War 11 but cannot find a trace of him in the Army records. His name was William Bonnyman and he was I think a Signalman. There is a discharge date in 1945 for him. But I know he worked for the Army after the war. I cannot remember when he left. His number was VX16187. I know he served in the Middle East before being wounded. When I insert a family name search there are only 7 records for Bonnyman and his is not one of them. I…

German Concentration Camps Liverpool NSW
This post card is in our family 'archives' - sent to my Great Grandfather, David Leake from 'Bob'. I am wondering whether this 'Bob' was a friend or relative of David. Could he have been of German ancestry and interred during WW I?? Are there any records of POWs detained at Liverpool, if so, how are they accessed? The photo on…

I am looking for all records of William John Kembrey (service no 488) relating to World War 1. I know he was killed in action in Belgium on 21 July 1917, but I would like copies of any other records held by NAA.

Hi
My paternal Great Grandfather was not known to us. My GGrandmother did not marry him, but went on to have his son, my grandfather.
GGrandfather was William Harold Norman. Born in London 1891. Came to Australia sometime before WWI and signed up over here in 1914. He was injured in Gallipoli and Malta and returned to London then Australia in 1916. End of 1916 he was discharged from the Army. in 1918 my Pop was born.
I have been able to trace some army correspondence as…

Hello
My maternal grandfather, David Cuthbert, DOB 12.3.1910 arrived in Australia as an orphan from Scotland-Glasgow. I have found a shipping record 1913 of a master David Cuthbert, aged 4 1/2 arriving on Orama, 10.10.1913. I am not 100% sure this is him but it is the only record I have located to date. My Mum and Aunties do not have a lot of information from his childhood, they believe he was a Barnados boy, perhaps living in Camden area. I have contacted Barnados in England (he was…
