I've obtained from the NAA the service and casualty records of my wife's grandfather during WWII.
These explain where he went but not what he did. There's a view he was mentioned in dispatches.
How can I discover such information if true? (Thanks In Advance)
The Gamble family (father, Alan; mother Rita; myself Tony, aged 13, and my sister Sarah Louise) arrived in Adelaide on board 'Castel Felice' in February 1969 having left Southampton on 8 January. I have located our passenger arrival record to confirm this, though I'm unsure of exact date of arrival.

My name is Peter Hancock and I am researching my Grandfathers army service record without success, I assume this is because he didnot serve overseas. I think he enlisted in about 1940 (born Devon England 1896, likely enlisted Moree NSW) and was discharged on 14th October 1952. Service number 2/46286, paybook number C631060.
