My name is Peter Hancock and I am researching my Grandfathers army service record without success, I assume this is because he didnot serve overseas. I think he enlisted in about 1940 (born Devon England 1896, likely enlisted Moree NSW) and was discharged on 14th October 1952. Service number 2/46286, paybook number C631060. Need advice or someone who has better research skills than me. Not an experienced user and am getting frustrated with army records research. He was generally known as…Continue

He was living in Speers Point near Sydney, when he registered as an alien in 1916. I have also checked http://marinersandships.com.au/.

Having difficulty locating records of my return to Australia in September 1958 after a four year sojourn in Singapore where my father was working. I was 4 years old at the time and would have travelled on a parents' passport. The vessel we returned on came via Java and I think may have been a freighter which carried a small number of private passengers. Passenger searches are not showing up any information. Any suggestions
I found the record of the arrival of the family I'm researching but no arrival date or port are included.
Is there a way of finding the missing details?
