Dear Uncle Mick and Aunty Beat,

Have been doing a lot of research and have lots to tell you about Maurie but there are still some missing gaps - did you know he was married twice, once to granny Herb in 1937 and previously to Isabel(la) Jane Barker in 1922, and that you had a brother who died in 1993 called Stanley Maurice (he was born in 1923, his brother and sister died in infancy), not sure if there were any children, he also enlisted in the army but funnily that was in 1944 - Maurie enlisted in 1939 and was delisted in 1943 am waiting for more details but it can be quite slow.....Also your Granfather Robert William Henry Herbertson enlisted in the Mounted Rifles in 1915 at the age of 41 he was delisted in 1918 because of bad eye sight.  I was given a photo of Maurie, Tom, Lily and Maria Bannam (your grandmother) and was shocked at how much Maurie looked like Uncle Joe, the Herbertsons are quite dark looking people, we take after the Bannam / Mackay side, but I lean more towards the Bannams because I feel that Ron and Bradley look similar to us - and their father (Uncle Tom)  is a Price not a Herbertson - has been very interesting digging up all the skeletons - Ricky Herbertson has heaps more especially on poor Maria Bannam any way if you are interested and on ancestry.com.au I have started our family tree - do you have a book on the Mackays?  if so and if you are on ancestry.com.au have a look at the tree I started and let me know of any gaps that can be filled in - good to hear from you all hope you are well - Love Marg
