A number of years ago I got the records for my grandfather (Sgt Alan Milne, 10th Light Horse) and my father (Sgt Douglas Bertram Milne, 16 Battalion).

Both records are very difficult to read and only gives limited information.

I could find what ship my grandfather was sent over on and that he had some R&R in the UK - that's about it.

With my father I read that he lost his medals in 1946 and was issued with new ones.

Where do I find if they served in…

Bryan, I have both Dads (WX30197) WW2 records and Alans WW1 records. What I dont have is Alans WW2 records or the "Norforce" time that dad did (which by his account was with AIB in Coastwatchers). Now, my wife is a conservator in the NAA, so if you wanted to go searching for this, Id be happy to facilitate.

Re: Dads medals... I got them reissued for him in about 2000 odd and I have them. He left me his medals and his watch, you lot got everything else. Email me.
