I am searching for the arrival of my grandparents Arnold Frank and Dianisha Weiler in Australia and also my great-grandparents, Arnold and Selina Weiler.

Looking too for my maternal family in the form of Mary Armstrong, nee Wheater in the late the 1800's. She lived in Charters Towers and one of her daughters was Silvina Franklin (nee Rowe) from Mary's second marriage. They all lived in Queensland.

Arnold (28y), Danisha (29y) and Selina (2Y) arrived on 28 Aug 1911 on the Themistocles

(Qld Assisted immigration 1848-1912)

There are 10+ Mary Armstrongs listed,so you'll need to be more specific with your details

Mary Armstongs last married name was Rowe, and her daughter Silvina Franklin (nee Rowe) was my maternal grandmother. Mary's maiden name was Wheater and she came from the Yorkshire. We think in the area of Middlesborough and Saltburn-by-the Sea.

She is buried one of the cemeteries in Charters Towers in North Queensland.

So appreciative of receiving the information about my paternal grandparents. Thank you.

Do you have information about Arnold's parents, Arnold and Selina Weiler who came some year later and any other Weiler around that time.

Mary A(nn) Armstrong 19Y and Mary M(artha) Armstrong 1Y arrive on 4 Jan 1886 on the Duke of Buckingham

Thank you so much. I have looked for this information for many years. There is no mention of a husband; is there somewhere else I can search to find if/when he came. Perhaps before them so as to get a job and prepare for their arrival.

Again ,"John Armstrong" is one of those very common names ... useless without age, locations etc ...

2 things that I noticed on the passenger list: Mary is “single and there are 4 more Armstrong’s on the list:
ARMSTRONG Charlotte 16 Page 10
ARMSTRONG Barbara 44 Page 11
ARMSTRONG Thomas 46 Page 11
ARMSTRONG Robert 14 Page 12

If this family is not a coincidence and as daughter Mary Martha was born in disctrict Auckland, Durham, I suppose I can assume Mary’s husband is most likely John Armstrong born 15 February 1864 and christened 3 Mar 1864 Tanfield, Durham.

And, this is him and his family in the 1881 UK census:

It is quite probable that John passed away before 1886 or at least before 1888 as it seems that Mary Armstrong and William Rowe had their first child William in August 1888.

There is a John Armstrong 21Y who arrives on 1884-12-08 on the Duke of Westminster, but I can’t confirm whether it is the right person.

Hmm, ... I've found John Armstrong b Tanfield with 2 of his brothers arriving on 11 Jan 1886, so a few days after the rest of the family: John 21Y, Paul 18Y and William19Y arrive on the Duke of Westminster. See p39: Duke of Westminster p39: http://www.archivessearch.qld.gov.au/Image/DigitalImageDisplay.aspx...

I doubt now whether Mary Ann Wheater would have married into this specific family, but I assume that you should be able to confirm or deny it from the details on her marriage certificate.
