I am trying to locate records of my Grandfather who apparently was at the Cowra POW camp as a VDC guard, his name is Michael Vincent MURRAY, born: Coonamble 1897, lived Kensington, NSW.

Also another relative: Francis William LAMOND who was on guard duty at Maroubra, NSW

Sorry I don't have a lot of information, but am hoping someone can point me in the right direction to finding some record of their duty..

Kindest regards

Hello Naomi

I am not sure of the extent of the Volunteer Defence Corps records in the National Archives of Australia's collection.  I recommend that you submit a reference inquiry using the online form at www.naa.gov.au/collection/forms/fam-inquiry.aspx and one of our reference officers will make a search of the collection for you.
