Hi guys,

I am looking for my birth father who's father was in the Navy.  I know that at one point they lived in NSW Heyfield as I've managed to find my grandfathers records under R58602 Robert John Stewart.

He was married to a Linda Anne Stewart but am unable to find out where they went after that record.   It does have a stamp that says 'CLOSED OF, TRANSFER OF N PERSONAL RECORDS'.  Does that mean he left the Navy?  or was transferred?  I have absolutely no idea!

How do I find out where he went after the Navy?  Is there any way?  I've checked the voter lists and can't find a Linda and Robert Stewart living together anywhere.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thank you and regards,

Cindy

It actually says 'Closed off 1st February 1970 on transfer of N personnel records to EDP'.  Which just means that they commenced electronic data processing (EDP) of records.

Robert and Linda were at Hunter Avenue, Lurnea (Werriwa, Liverpool South) up to the latest available indexed electoral rolls in 1980.
