Hello everyone

I'm researching the Johns side of my family tree and would be very grateful if anyone could help me.  I have a record of Emily Johns and her daughter Vera sailing from Liverpool to Brisbane on the SS Themistocles on 29th/30th July 1927 but I can't find the husband/father, David Samuel Johns, on the same ship - or, in fact, any ship.  I know he definitely emigrated to Australia, perhaps not on the same ship at the same time, but probably after about 1915.  I have records for the three of them emigrating from Australia to Canada in 1929.  Please could anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks

Hi Glynis
Unfortunately, only a small proportion of our passenger listing have been indexed, and so it is only possible to find an individual in a passenger list if you know approximately when they arrived in Australia, preferably to the month and year. Passenger lists of voyages out of the UK have been indexed from 1890 to 1960, which is searchable at http://www.ancestorsonboard.com/. Once you find a date of departure, then we can conduct a search for the subsequent arrival in Australia. You can submit a reference inquiry for a reference officer to conduct the search for you using our online form at http://reftracker.naa.gov.au/reft100.aspx?key=02PassRef.
