Hi Russell,

These two records may be for your James and you would have to pay to have them digitised if you can't vist the archives in person.  On the right hand side of the page see the 'request copy' link.

If you are not sure you should submit a request and give all the information you have and they should be able to positively identify him before you order the records.  If he always lived in Montague Street then it shouldn't be too difficult as his address should be on both those records.

To ask a question use this form:

You can search for other name combinations here on RecordSearch:

I assume this is his death:

James George SUE

Father: Go Yee

Mother: Wong See

Do you have his marriage certificate to get his parents' names?  Death information is not always reliable, whereas he would have provided the details on his marriage himself so more likely to be accurate.

James George SUE

Florence Maud EMSLIE

Thank Debra for the lead, iwill pursue it. Cheers russ.

Hi Russell

I'm hoping that you still receive notifications after so many years.

I'm the owner (for about 20 years) of the house at 430 Montague West End, Brisbane which was previously owned by George Henry Sue from 1933 to (what I believe was his death) in 1986; then inherited by a person who I believe to be his brother (Eric Victor Sue) before being sold soon after. I believe that he rented it from 1930 before buying it. I came across your post while trying to research the history of the house (which I'm deep in renovating, hence the interest).

From what I can see in seemingly-matching death record in a Queensland BDM search, he was probably the son of George James Sue and Florence Emslie and that father may be the son of the person who you were searching for.

I'd appreciate if you got in touch as we may have some mutual interest here.

Please contact me on 0423 579 188 or scott.gordon@qimr.edu.au

Sorry George James Sue would BE the person you are searching for (although the given names are swapped).
